About Montessori

Montessori is an education developed by Maria Montessori in Italy. It is based on making use of the children's spontaneous desire for work and letting their own interest lead them to seek knowledge. Children are curious, full of joy to discover the world around, eager to try different things and learn new skills. Children have an enviable ability to concentrate on a task that captures them. Most montessorimaterials are self-correcting and the children will experience the satisfaction that they themselves succeed with a task. They are given the opportunity to work / play undisturbed at their own pace, important conditions for developing into harmonious and independent adults. Maria Montessori emphasized the importance of contact with nature for the child's development. "Everything in the living world is active. Life itself is activity, and it is only through activity that we can seek and win the fullness of life. "

Maria Montessori was Italy's first female doctor. She was born August 31, 1870 in Chiaravalle, Italy, and was nominated several times for the Nobel Peace Prize.
